Latin Proverb # 17 – Cibi condimentum est fames

Latin Proverb: Cibi condimentum est fames – Cicero, Fin. 2.90.10 

English equivalent: Hunger is the best sauce.

Translation: Hunger is the spice of food.

Meaning: When you’re hungry, everything tastes better, since you’re not as concerned with the taste as with silencing your hunger.
